From the M4 (click here for map)

• Exit the motorway at junction 13 and take the A34 south.
• At the large roundabout for the M3 stay in the left-hand lane and take the second exit (A272) heading toward A31, Alton
• At the next roundabout take the first exit (left), on to the A31.
• At the next roundabout take the third exit (roughly 1 o'clock), staying on the A31 toward Alton.
• At the next roundabout take the second exit (roughly 2 o'clock), staying on the A31 toward Alton.
• At the next roundabout take the second exit (straight on), staying on the A31 toward Alton.
• This road goes through Ropley and out the other side, turning back into a dual cariageway. When the road narrows again and you enter Four Marks, the Travelodge will be on your left in roughly 0.1 - 0.2 miles.
• About 0.6 miles through Four Marks turn left signposted Bentworth, Medstead and Mansfield Business Park.
• After about 1 mile you will come to a T-junction. Turn left and the church will be on your right in about 100 yards or so.

• Leave Exeter on the A30 / A303
• After about 105 - 110 miles exit the road at the junction labelled Newbury / Winchester (A34).
• Go straight across the next 2 small roundabouts, heading on to the A34.

I'm afraid that I've only ever driven this way once after a 9 hour flight from Florida, so I wasn't at my most observant. I suspect that it may be easiest to take the M3 to Farnborough, then the A331 down to the A31 rather than taking the A3 from the M25 through Guildford to the A31. If you know otherwise then if you let me know I'll update the directions.
